The hotel itself is unlike many others, as it functions across four historical buildings which were originally built for French fishermen during the years 1898–1907. The hotel was renovated in 2016 and won an European Heritage Award for having preserved the historical aspects of the buildings. Today, the hotel is tastefully decorated with airy rooms, a renowned restaurant that serves both French and local dishes, and its very own floating dock that gives you the chance to step out onto the fjord and experience the surroundings.
