The best time to visit Iceland depends on what you'd like to experience in Iceland. Each season offers unique adventures and natural phenomena that make Iceland special year-round.

Summer (June-Aug): Perfect for exploring with endless daylight and mild weather. All highland roads are open, making it ideal for Ring Road trips and hiking. Most popular season with peak prices.
Winter (Nov-Feb): Dark nights perfect for Northern Lights hunting. Experience ice caves, winter activities, and festive holiday markets. Lower prices (except during Christmas and New Year) but some roads may close due to weather.
Spring (March-May): Watch Iceland come alive with migrating birds and spring flowers. Mix of winter and summer activities available. Good value with fewer tourists.
Fall (Sept-Oct): Enjoy fall colors and first Northern Lights opportunities. Still mild enough for outdoor activities. Lower prices and fewer crowds than summer.

Iceland has an advanced monitoring system, and authorities issue alerts well in advance. In the rare event that your trip is affected by a volcanic eruption, we can either reschedule your trip to a later date or provide a full refund.

During volcanic activity, we follow official travel advisories to ensure your safety. It's worth noting that volcanic eruptions rarely disrupt flights or travel to Iceland. Since 1997, only the Eyjafjallajökull eruption in 2010 caused significant flight cancellations, and even then for just a few days.

Here are a few useful tips:

  • The weather changes fast – bring layers!
  • Credit cards are widely accepted – cash isn't needed.
  • Tipping is not expected, but always appreciated.
  • Road conditions can be tricky in winter – check before driving.
  • Iceland uses European-style plugs (Type F, 230V) – bring an adapter if needed.

Iceland is full of unique landscapes, shaped by volcanoes, glaciers, and extreme weather. If you’re visiting for the first time, these are some of the must-see natural sights:

  • Golden Circle – A classic route with Gullfoss waterfall, the erupting Strokkur geyser, and the tectonic divide at Thingvellir National Park.
  • Volcanoes & Lava Fields – Walk across fresh lava on the Reykjanes Peninsula or see the glacier-covered Eyjafjallajökull volcano.
  • Hot Springs & Geysers – Relax in the Blue Lagoon or watch the geyser Strokkur send boiling water into the air.
  • Glaciers & Ice Caves – Explore Vatnajökull, Iceland’s largest glacier, and its natural ice caves in winter.
  • Waterfalls – Walk behind Seljalandsfoss, see the power of Skógafoss, or visit the multi-tiered Gullfoss.
  • Black Sand Beaches – Experience Reynisfjara's black sands and basalt columns.
  • Glacier Lagoons – Explore Jökulsárlón’s icebergs and the the quieter Fjallsárlón.
  • Seasonal wonders – See the Northern Lights in winter or enjoy the Midnight Sun in summer.
