The Package Travel Act is based on an EU Directive and serves primarily to ensure a minimum level of consumer protection for package holidays. The following terms govern the contractual relationship between the tour operator, which is a member of the Association of Swedish Travel Agents and Tour Operators, and the traveller upon purchase of a package holiday.

Vulkanresor has lodged a travel guarantee with the Swedish Legal, Financial and Administrative Services Agency.
The travel guarantee protects travellers who buy package holidays from an operator which has lodged guarantees with the Swedish Legal, Financial and Administrative Services Agency. The guarantee ensures that travellers are reimbursed for all travel services that cannot be used as a result of insolvency, including return travel.
Note that you will not be protected by the travel guarantee if you only buy flights or make an individual booking for a hotel, excursion or hire car. These conditions apply to new bookings:
- More than 30 days before departure: cancellation fee 20% of the trip price.
- 30-16 days before departure: cancellation fee 50% of the trip price.
- 15-0 days before departure: no refund.
If the United States Department of State (DOS) advises against travel to Iceland, the following cancellation conditions apply for package travel:
If you booked your trip before the DOS advisory and your departure date falls within the time period specified by the DOS, you are entitled to free rebooking for a future travel date. Alternatively, you may request a refund.
