South Coast & Glacier Hiking (08:30/10,5 hours) (A14)

10 hours From $225

Discover the raw beauty of Iceland’s south coast on this guided day tour, where glaciers and waterfalls create an unforgettable landscape.

Less than two hours from Reykjavík, you’ll arrive at the mighty Eyjafjallajökull area, with the striking Sólheimajökull glacier tongue stretching down from Mýrdalsjökull—one of Iceland’s largest ice caps.

Here, your certified glacier guide will lead you on a safe and accessible glacier walk. Equipped with crampons and other essential gear, you’ll step onto the ice and explore a world of ridges, deep crevasses, and shimmering ice formations. (1 - 1.5 hours guided glacier hike)

The adventure doesn’t end there—on your journey back you’ll visit two of Iceland’s most famous waterfalls. Stand in awe at the mighty Skógafoss, where mist and rainbows often dance in the spray, and experience the unique thrill of walking behind the curtain of water at Seljalandsfoss.

This tour combines striking natural wonders with expert guidance, making it the perfect choice for travelers who want to experience both the excitement of glacier exploration and the beauty of Iceland’s south coast in a single day. No prior experience is needed, and all safety equipment is included.

We stop at Hvolsvöllur on the way to the glacier were you can buy lunch or you can pack your own lunch and bring it with you on the tour. We recommend to sit down for lunch before the hike and maybe have a light snack afterwards.
