Day description
Flying to Iceland from the US
How your flight affects your trip *
If your package includes flights: Your trip starts the night before Day 1. You’ll fly out at night and arrive in Iceland the next morning (local time). When booking, the system will show one extra night because of the overnight flight.
If you're booking your own flights: Make sure your flight arrives in Iceland on Day 1 of your trip.
Welcome to Iceland!

Upon arrival at Keflavík Airport, you’ll be greeted by our driver and given a warm welcome to Iceland. You’ll then be transferred by private bus to your hotel in Reykjavík.
Flights from North America typically arrive early in the morning. While hotel check-in is usually available from 2:00–3:00 PM, most hotels will let you drop off your luggage earlier so you can start exploring right away.
To make the most of your first day, we recommend starting with a relaxing visit to Sky Lagoon. Soak in the warm geothermal waters while enjoying breathtaking ocean views—a perfect way to unwind after your flight.
Later, take time to explore Reykjavík at your own pace or enjoy lunch at one of the city’s many excellent restaurants. Need recommendations? Our Iceland specialists are always happy to help.
Private Golden Circle Adventure

After breakfast at the hotel, you'll be picked up from 09:00 for your private guided Golden Circle tour.
The journey leaves Reykjavík and heads across the Hellisheiði plateau toward the first stop, the small town of Hveragerði. The town is known for its many greenhouses, which are heated using geothermal energy.
Next, you'll visit the geothermal area of Geysir, home to hot springs and Strokkur, Iceland’s most active geyser. Strokkur erupts roughly every five minutes, sending water high into the air. You can walk among steaming vents and bubbling mud pools and feel the natural energy beneath your feet.
A short drive from Geysir brings you to Gullfoss, the Golden Waterfall. Often considered one of Iceland’s most beautiful waterfalls, Gullfoss falls in two stages into a deep canyon. There’s a viewing path that takes you close to the falls and lets you experience the force of the water up close.
The final stop of the day is Þingvellir National Park, the original site of the Icelandic parliament, the Althing, established in the 900s. The park lies on the boundary between the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates, and the effects of this are clearly visible in the landscape.
After the visit to Þingvellir, you’ll return to Reykjavík. The evening is free for you to spend as you like.
A Day to Explore at Your Own Pace

Depending on the length of your stay, you’ll have at least one full day to spend entirely on your own terms. It’s the perfect chance to explore more of Iceland with optional excursions and activities tailored to your interests.
You can choose from a wide range of experiences—from whale watching tours departing directly from Reykjavík’s harbor, to a relaxing visit to the world-famous Blue Lagoon. Set in a lava field, this iconic geothermal spa is known for its soothing, mineral-rich waters and is a great way to unwind at any point during your trip.
Whether you’re looking for adventure, relaxation, or a little bit of both, our Iceland specialists are here to help you make the most of your journey. Just reach out—we’ll be happy to assist.
